Description
FAL-50E End-of-Line Aluminum Flame Arrester
The FAL-50E End-of-Line Aluminum Flame Arrester is designed for installation at the end of vent lines or on the top of storage tanks to help prevent external flames from propagating back into the tank or pipeline system. It is commonly used for fuel tanks, oil vapor recovery systems, combustible gas venting systems, and other applications where atmospheric venting requires flame protection.
This flame arrester uses a stainless steel corrugated metal flame element. The triangular passages formed by the flame element help extinguish flame propagation while allowing gas or vapor to pass through the vent opening. The aluminum alloy body provides a lightweight and corrosion-resistant structure, making the unit suitable for many industrial and fuel system applications.
Key Features
- End-of-line flame arrester for tank and pipeline vent protection
- Aluminum alloy body with stainless steel flame arresting element
- Designed to help stop flame propagation into the tank or vent line
- Compact structure, lightweight design, and easy installation
- Suitable for fuel tanks, oil vapor systems, gas recovery systems, and venting applications
- Available with flanged or threaded connection
- Easy inspection, cleaning, and maintenance
Typical Applications
- Storage tank venting systems
- Fuel oil tanks and diesel tank vents
- Oil and gas vapor recovery systems
- Combustible gas vent lines
- Industrial ventilation systems requiring flame protection
- Generator fuel tank and skid-mounted fuel system applications
Installation
The FAL-50E flame arrester should be installed vertically at the top of the storage tank or at the end of the vent pipe. Correct vertical installation helps maintain pressure balance between the tank and the atmosphere while reducing the risk of flame entering the tank or vent system.
Maintenance
To maintain reliable performance, the flame element should be inspected periodically. Under normal operating conditions, inspection every six months is recommended. The flame element should be checked for blockage, deformation, corrosion, or contamination. If the flame element is damaged or corroded, it should be replaced.
When cleaning the flame element, use steam, compressed air, or a non-corrosive cleaning solvent. Do not use sharp or hard tools that may damage the flame arresting element.
