Description
FAL-50 to FAL-200 Flanged Aluminum Flame Arrester
The FAL-50 to FAL-200 Flanged Aluminum Flame Arrester is designed for installation on pipelines and tank vent systems carrying or discharging combustible gases and vapors. It helps prevent flame propagation caused by flashback and reduces the risk of flame spreading through the pipeline, vent line, or storage tank system.
This flame arrester is manufactured with a high-quality cast aluminum alloy body and a stainless steel corrugated flame arresting element. The aluminum body provides a lightweight structure and corrosion-resistant performance, while the internal flame element helps extinguish flame propagation by absorbing and dissipating heat through narrow corrugated passages.
The unit adopts an O-ring sealing design, which makes the flame element easier to inspect, remove, clean, and reinstall during maintenance. With a compact structure, reasonable design, and reduced installation weight, this series is suitable for medium and small storage tanks, fuel tank systems, vapor recovery lines, and combustible gas pipeline applications.

Installation and Maintenance
The FAL flanged aluminum flame arrester should be installed according to the pipeline direction, tank venting requirements, and project safety design. Before installation, the pipeline should be cleaned to remove welding slag, metal particles, dust, and other foreign materials that may block or damage the flame arresting element.
For reliable performance, the flame arresting element should be inspected periodically. If blockage, deformation, corrosion, or mechanical damage is found, the flame element should be cleaned or replaced. The flame element can be cleaned with steam, compressed air, or a non-corrosive cleaning solvent. Sharp or hard tools should not be used, as they may damage the stainless steel corrugated flame arresting structure.
Selection Notes
When selecting a flanged aluminum flame arrester, the medium, gas group, pipeline size, connection standard, operating pressure, temperature, flow capacity, installation position, and required flame arresting performance should be reviewed carefully. THINKTANK can provide engineering support for flame arrester selection and related tank protection solutions according to project requirements.
