THINKTANK is pleased to announce that our Fusible Link Valve (FSV Series) has successfully obtained API 607 Fire-Safe Certification, issued by TÜV.
This certification confirms that the valve maintains sealing performance and operational integrity when exposed to fire conditions. For industries where fire protection and emergency shutdown are critical, this verification provides an additional level of reliability and safety.

Why Fire-Safe Certification Matters
Fusible Link Valves are widely used as automatic emergency shutoff valves in fuel storage and fuel supply systems.
When the surrounding temperature reaches the melting point of the fusible element, the valve automatically closes, isolating the fuel source and preventing further escalation of the fire.
However, during a real fire scenario, the valve itself is exposed to extremely high temperatures.
If the valve cannot maintain its sealing capability after fire exposure, leakage may occur and the fire risk can increase significantly.
The API 607 fire test verifies that the valve can:
- Maintain acceptable leakage limits during and after fire exposure
- Preserve structural integrity under high temperature conditions
- Continue to provide isolation after the fire event
Obtaining this certification demonstrates that the valve design meets internationally recognized fire-safe requirements.
Tested and Certified by TÜV
The fire-safe test for THINKTANK’s Fusible Link Valve was conducted and certified by TÜV, an internationally recognized third-party certification body.
The test procedure follows the API 607 standard, which simulates real fire conditions to evaluate valve performance under extreme thermal stress.
During the test, the valve is exposed to direct flame for a specified period while monitoring leakage rates and structural stability. The valve must continue to function and maintain sealing performance within strict limits defined by the standard.
Passing this test confirms that the valve is suitable for critical safety applications in fuel handling systems.

Typical Applications
THINKTANK Fusible Link Valves are commonly used in systems where automatic fuel isolation is required during fire emergencies, including:
- Diesel generator fuel supply systems
- Fuel oil storage tanks
- Day tanks and fuel distribution pipelines
- Industrial fuel transfer systems
- Fire protection and emergency shutdown systems
In these applications, the valve acts as a passive safety device that requires no external power or control signal.

Designed for Reliability in Emergency Situations
Our FSV series fusible link valves are designed to provide dependable operation when it matters most.
Key features include:
- Selectable fusible temperature ratings to match system requirements
- Spring-loaded automatic shutoff mechanism for rapid closure
- Robust valve body design for industrial environments
- Compact installation for fuel pipelines and tank outlets
Combined with the API 607 fire-safe certification, these design features ensure the valve can perform its protective function even under severe fire exposure.

Supporting Global Safety Requirements
As fuel storage and diesel backup systems continue to expand in industries such as data centers and industrial plants, safety standards for fire protection equipment are becoming increasingly stringent.
By achieving API 607 certification through TÜV, THINKTANK provides customers with a valve solution that aligns with international fire safety expectations.
